The easiest way to determine whether your physician has a previous malpractice claim is to go to their Department of Health practitioner profile. That will typically identify whether there has been an indemnity payout on behalf of that physician, and if so, you can see it on their profile, as well as whether there’s been a complaint by the Department of Health in which they found probable cause. In addition, you can also look up their education and training and determine whether they are board certified in their area of expertise.
