You can sue if there is a viable cause of action when there is a placental abruption. There are a number of circumstances and ways in which that can be a viable or potential malpractice case. For instance, sometimes we had cases like this where a mother may be on a fetal monitor strip, and that fetal monitor strip may show signs that are consistent or concerning for a placental abruption. In that circumstance, it is incumbent upon the nurses or the obstetrician to timely intervene before that abruption worsens and then subsequently threatens the life of both the mother and the baby. If you feel that you have been a victim, please feel free to give us a call so that we can review your case.
